Name: Mauro Boselli
Nationality: Argentinian
Date of Birth: 22/05/1985
Height:5' 11" (181cm)
Previous
Clubs:Boca Juniors, C. Estudiantes
Position: Striker

Boselli joined Latics before the start of the 2010/11 Barclays Premier League season from Argentina outfit Estudiantes, for whom he had played 81 times and scored 44 goals.

A natural finisher with his feet and in the air, Boselli's intelligence in and around the penalty area also adds a real threat to the Wigan Athletic front-line, and a different dimension to the team.

The forward started his career at Boca Juniors in 2003, and eventually realised his true potential when he made the move to Estudiantes in 2008.

His talents were truly showcased at the 2009 Copa Libertadores, finishing as the tournament's top goalscorer and leading his club to the title.

In the 2009/10 Argentine 'Clausura', a break-off tournament from the Argentine Primera, his 13 goals brought the Golden Boot award, and again helped his side to another top honour.

At international level Boselli has two caps for Argentina, his first coming in September 2009 in a friendly match against Ghana.
